STC-IREP - Training Scientists and Engineers
From 2005 to 2008 I led planning and evaluation for an International Research Experience Program (IREP).
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), IREP funded international travel and housing for students at NSF Science and Technology Centers (STCs). Thirty six graduate students traveled to eighteen countries to study with prominent scientists and engineers.
Student research topics included using biophotonics to detect cancer cells, studying the molecular characterization of neurotransmitters, building high frequency radio tags, building organic circuits and remote sensing of ice sheets.
I advised the IREP leadership team on developing proposal guidelines and defining reporting requirements. I led the summative evaluation team. Download summative report. (PDF 2 MB)
