Applied Skills in International Agriculture
My master’s research at Cornell University focused on tropical agriculture, plant sciences, tropical soils, and plant breeding.
I travelled extensively in Mexico and Central America studying agriculture markets in developing rural economies.
Living and working with Mayan farmers in Mexico and Belize, I taught crop alternatives and learned traditional agriculture.
In Costa Rica and Hawai‘i I studied with farmers who were growing bananas, ginger, and ornamental plants, including orchids and heliconias.

Living and working with Mayan farmers in rural areas of Mexico and Belize I learned more than I taught.
